The Supreme Court has legalized same sex marriage and Oregon law provides the same protections and process to those marriages as a dissolution would.  Oregon has also recognized registered domestic partnerships. These were agreements that were entered into by parties before the Supreme Court legalized same sex marriage.  That case did not dissolve these and did not convert them into marriages. These domestic partnerships exist in an area of law that is different and separate from dissolutions with different issues that need to be discussed and different ways things are handled.  Our firm can help direct you in making the correct decisions in this area.
